‘The Lesser Known Side of the Flood Building’
The ornate façade of the Flood Building has adorned Market Street in San Francisco since 1904. Once the tallest building in the city, it survived the 1906 earthquake and has housed many noted tenants since then: Pacific Railroad and Woolworth’s are the most notable.
Today, it is the residence of Gap, Anthropologie, and Urban Outfitters.
This is the back of the building. It echoes it’s past by sharing old brick and communicating the simplicity of its identity by simply saying, ‘Flood Building.’
Enjoy.
