‘Species Unknown’
I was really happy I snapped this photo, thinking it was an Indian Paintbrush Flower - which connects with one of my fondest memories of childhood and it was the third or fourth flower I could identify at 5 years old (the others are dandelion, sunflower, and rose). I came to find out (after a little research) that this is not, in fact, an Indian Paintbrush Flower… or it may be and is not in bloom, but not probable.
It’s crazy the things you hold on to from so long ago.
Still one of my most liked shots from the trip.
