‘Sunset on Padaro Beach’
The sun throws light at the striated cloud formations scattered above the Pacific. Colors emerge as different wavelengths reflect off of the coagulated, suspended water particles.
You, too, can reflect beautiful wavelengths.

Holton Rower

Posted by Alex Moshakis, 10 February 2011

(1) We know no other Holtons, and feel it important that Holton Rower is therefore presented here. (2) This video reveals Holton’s process, which seems insanely simple, but which nevertheless results in surprisingly beautiful, borderline psychedelic works. (3) The video’s director, Dave Kaufman, has set the whole thing to the Kronos Quartet’s rendition of Philip Glass’String Quartet No. 3 (Mishima), apparently to suggest drama and/or excitement. We feel it works.
